Qualitative research an alternative for the application of the phenomenological-hermeneutic method in the human sciences
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to analyze qualitative research and the phenomenological-hermeneutic method in the aspects of conceptual definitions, characteristics and their application in the human sciences. Qualitative research is conceived as a scientific activity aimed at the study, description and analysis of social phenomena, from a binding vision between the subject-object (researcher-participant) with a direct interaction, where the information or data is taken directly from the informants, which are processed in a descriptive and qualitative way. Highlighting among its characteristics: flexibility, depth, richness of data, interpretation, subjectivity, it is cyclical, it seeks the description of social phenomena, it has a flexible design in constant construction. The phenomenological - hermeneutic method proposes the analysis and deep interpretation of phenomena focused on the experiences of human beings and their relationship with the world. To carry out this research study, a documentary review of various definitions and positions made by the authors was carried out. The conclusion was reached that qualitative research generates true knowledge based on lived experiences and their meanings in a given context
