The approach through the analogies between the brain and the mind is exposed by handling the concept of the brain as a computer (hardware) and the mind as an operating system (software), offering the vision of neural networks as the central engine of mental processes. A vision is offered of the way in which the mind has developed in the long path of the evolution of the species in the tree of life of our planet, leaving at the end key questions about the future of homo sapiens. The functional elements involved, called neural networks, are then presented, which are responsible for the primary processing of information received from the environment, and the evolutionary levels of neural networks and the mind as an integrated processing and information unit are presented. Some paragraphs are included as a possible evolution. A corresponding obligatory reflection closes this presentation, leaving the way open for further reflection.
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44515Interculturality and intercultural bilingual education: Critical analysis and perspectives for change2025-10-03T01:59:05+00:00José Alvaradojosealvarado001@gmail.com
Interculturality is an interactive and discursive process that promotes cultural heterogeneity and the creation of conditions conducive to strengthening the dialogue of knowledge. However, when associated with Intercultural Bilingual Education, this is linked to a functional tendency, which is governed by the dictates of the State and by means of established educational policies, without being able to promote processes of resistance and pedagogical transformation, maintaining the pre-existing order, without questioning the dominant structures in education. Faced with this reality, the proposal of critical interculturality and critical intercultural education arises as ways of questioning the dominant educational model, inviting to raise different pedagogical practices, not from conditions of equality, but from the difference, from the tensions with the modern-western discourse.
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44521Strengthening wayuu cultural values in social studies teaching2025-10-03T15:18:27+00:00Maxula Atenciomaxuatencio@gmail.comEdith Gouveiaedithgouveia@yahoo.comNegda Gouveianegomu98@gmail.com
The objective of this study was to propose teaching strategies that allow for the reinforcement of Wayuu cultural values through the teaching of Social Studies. It was framed within a feasible project-based research, supported by descriptive field research and with a non-experimental design. The population consisted of Social Studies teachers from educational units located in the Jesús Enrique Lossada municipality of Zulia State. A survey technique was used, with a 27-item questionnaire designed as an instrument, with a polychotomous scale consisting of three response alternatives: (03) Always; (02) Sometimes; and (01) Never. This instrument was validated by expert judgment. Reliability was determined using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.82. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics in frequency tables and percentages. The results reveal that teaching strategies are an opportunity for teachers to innovate their teaching practice, fostering in students the meaning of what they learn, rather than allowing them to be recipients of information that has no meaning for their lives as individuals in a society with diverse cultural values.
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44522Happiness in older adults. A vision after the Covid 19 pandemic2025-10-03T15:31:56+00:00Carmen Sánchezsachezc7555@gmail.comMarhilde Sánchezmarhildesv65@gmail.com
Aging is a natural, gradual, continuous process, during which physical, biological, psychological and social transformations take place over time; that currently more people experience, taking into account the notable increase in life expectancy worldwide. The decade of healthy aging (2020 - 2030) stands out, in which it is intended that the so-called older adults or the elderly; who, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), are people over 60 years of age, present good physical and mental health and function functionally in the different social groups in which they interact. This study presents as a general objective to determine the level of happiness in older adults, after the covid-19 pandemic, based on the approaches of Alarcón (2006) and Seligman (2006). The research was descriptive and field study model, with a non-experimental, transectional-descriptive design. An intentional non-probabilistic sample was taken of 156 older adults between 65 and 85 years of age, residents of Zulia and Falcón states. The "Adapted version of the Lima Happiness Scale for older adults" by Árraga and Sánchez (2008), with adequate psychometric properties was administered. The results indicate that the level of happiness in the elderly is high, as well as in all its dimensions (satisfaction with life, personal fulfillment, positive sense of life, joy of living). Statistically significant differences were found in happiness according to marital status, educational level, and institutionalized
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44523Semiotic theory applied to the analysis of the film Dracula (1992)2025-10-03T16:12:11+00:00Gloria Fuenmayorgloria_fuenmayor@hotmail.comYeriling Villasmilafricanopintica@gmail.com
The objective of the investigation consisted of analyzing the film Dracula (1992), adaptation brought to the screen by Francis Ford Coppola according to the precepts of the semiotic theory of Manuel González de Ávila. The theoretical foundations were based on González de Ávila (2002), Van Dijk (1978), Beaugrade and Dressler (1996), Villasmil, Arrieta and Finol (2009), regarding the following criteria: 1.- Notion of textuality according to the Isolating Semiotics, 2.- Textuality Norms, 3.- The text studied inside and outside the world, 4.- Notions of Critical Semiotics applied to cinema. The type of research was of a qualitative nature, since descriptions and annotations were made about the most outstanding scenes of the film. Therefore this research work is divided into two phases of investigation; the first referred to the construction of the theory applied to cinematographic discourse and the second the selection of scenes where the criteria of Semiotics, Isolating, Binding and Critical were evidenced. The findings found in the analysis showed that the criteria used by Isolating Semiotics were reflected in some scenes, among these criteria intertextuality, coherence and cohesion are mentioned, with regard to binding and critical semiotics, the film reflects historical facts of universal transcendence such as the time of the crusades and the social and moral decline of the European continent at the end of the 19th century. Isolating, Binding and Critical. The findings found in the analysis showed that the criteria used by Isolating Semiotics were reflected in some scenes, among these criteria intertextuality, coherence and cohesion are mentioned, with regard to binding and critical semiotics. Methodologically, it was carried out following the principles of the qualitative paradigm, with an approach centered on the documentary review. Among the main results, it was found that parenting is an integral process of education, instruction, direction and training, indispensable for the integral development of children and adolescents. Internationally, it was evidenced that Parenting Responsibility is deeply linked to the protection of human rights. In the Venezuelan legal system, it includes the shared, equal and inalienable duty and right of the father and mother to raise, educate, take care of, watch over, maintain and assist their children materially, morally and affectively. Qualitative research is conceived as a scientific activity aimed at the study, description and analysis of social phenomena, from a binding vision between the subject-object (researcher-participant) with a direct interaction, where the information or data is taken directly from the informants, which are processed in a descriptive and qualitative way. Highlighting among its characteristics: flexibility, depth, richness of data, interpretation, subjectivity, it is cyclical, it seeks the description of social phenomena, it has a flexible design in constant construction. The phenomenological - hermeneutic method proposes the analysis and deep interpretation of phenomena focused on the experiences of human beings and their relationship with the world. To carry out this research study, a documentary review of various definitions and positions made by the authors was carried out. Among the factors of greatest interest that lead to school dropout are poverty associated with conditions of vulnerability and academic problems. Interventions are urgently needed that advocate a multidisciplinary approach to school dropout where various institutions and actors of the educational system converge.
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44541A classroom experience from linear algebra with GeoGebra 3D2025-10-03T23:04:27+00:00Luis Manuel Barrios Sotolmbs19@hotmail.comMercedes Delgado Gonzálezmerdelgon@gmail.com
The use of technological tools such as GeoGebra 3D allows the application of pedagogical strategies for the understanding of definitions and geometric construction processes in the subject of linear algebra, so this work is based on contributions such as Van Hiele (1999), Gardner (2015), Torres, et al (2021), Campo, et al (2021), among others. Methodologically, it has a qualitative approach, applying active observation in the development of a class for the analysis of the experiences of the students. Among the results, it was found that the use of GeoGebra 3D facilitates the understanding of the behavior of the geometric elements that are necessary for the representation of vectors and lines in space. It is concluded that the experience of the students was satisfactory, due to the ease of geometric representation that this technological assistant has, providing a greater field of visualization by the perspectives, but also, a greater understanding of the algebraic processes involved in the use of vectors and the vector equation of the straight line in was noted
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44542Excelia with applicationsautomated calculation of probabilities2025-10-03T23:13:08+00:00Edwin Rafael Carrasquero Cabreraercaca093@gmail.com
Automated calculation refers to the numerical operations carried out on the topics of probabilities, by the design, construction and programming of the new Excelia digital resource of the technological didactic type with values added to Excel. It is undeniable, from popular knowledge, the level of difficulty that students show when learning numerical subjects, particularly the topic of probabilities. New strategies have always been sought in the hope of transforming this reality. The problem is supported by the works of Barroso, Jerez (2013); Bologna, E. (2011); Fontanelli, Mansilla y Miramontes (2020); Gómez, Contreras and Batanero (2015); López and Gómez (2022) and Serrano-Díaz (2022). Its objective was to: Design techno-didactic resources, such as Excelia, with applications on various topics related to probabilities and their distributions. The methodology used was documentary, descriptive and applied. The Excelia construction was carried out based on some Excel functions, with the support of logical functions and some mathematical devices (Carrasquero 2023). As a product of this research, there are applications that can be combined and customized according to the interest of teachers and students, grouped into a statistical calculator and an instructional resource. Finally, this product is considered of great interest due to its multiple benefits, especially time savings and low level of difficulty in its use, since only the data must be entered and it is up to the user to interpret the results in light of their theoretical context
2025-10-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://produccioncientifica.luz.edu.ve/index.php/omnia/article/view/44543Morpholexical study of mineral nomenclature2025-10-03T23:33:26+00:00Donaldo Garcíadonaldogf@gmail.comÁngel Delgadoadelgado95@gmail.comEndri Gonzálezalfonsogr1976@hotmail.com
Terminological standardization is a procedure created to establish a nomenclature that tends toward universality of terms. The objective of this research is to describe the word formation procedures and the lexical-semantic processes involved in mineral nomenclature. The research is framed within an empiricist approach, descriptive in scope, and documentary in design. 306 mineral names were analyzed, extracted from three specialized books. The technique selected was documentary analysis, and a double-entry matrix was used as an instrument. Among the main results, it is notable that these are neologisms created with the suffix –íta, with a specialized meaning. The roots come from words that describe the physical properties of minerals, through eponyms or place names. Although this is not the standardization system approved by the standardizing body, it is easy to memorize and understand; that is why its use among specialists continues.
