Peer review process
- Submission and Editorial Screening Phase
After the manuscript is submitted via the OJS platform or email, the Editorial Board conducts a preliminary evaluation. At this stage, the article is checked to ensure it falls within the journal’s scope and complies with the author guidelines and style guidelines (APA 7). It is also run through plagiarism detection tools. If the manuscript does not pass this screening, it is rejected or returned for technical revisions.
- Assignment and management of the peer review process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening undergo editorial review and external evaluation. The Committee selects at least two specialists in the subject area (academic peers) to conduct a double-blind review. Strict anonymity is guaranteed during this phase: neither the reviewers nor the authors know each other’s identities, ensuring an impartial technical assessment free from institutional or personal bias.
- Technical and Methodological Review (Peer Review Phase)
In this phase, reviewers analyze the manuscript within a specified timeframe based on criteria of originality, methodological soundness, and the significance of the findings. Upon completion of the scientific review, the reviewers issue one of the following recommendations:
- Immediate acceptance: no changes required.
- Acceptance with minor revisions: the author must make the suggested adjustments.
- Acceptance conditional on major revisions: requires re-evaluation after substantial changes.
- Rejection: the manuscript is not suitable for publication.
- Editorial Decision and Notification
The Editorial Board analyzes the results of the technical and methodological evaluation to make the final decision. In the event of significant discrepancies between the reviewers’ reports, a third evaluator (appeal reviewer) is consulted to resolve the verdict. The decision is formally communicated to the author, along with the anonymized evaluation reports.
- Final Stage (Post-Review)
If the article is accepted with revisions, authors must submit the revised version (within 15 business days of receiving the decision). Once the editorial team confirms that the suggestions from the review have been incorporated, the manuscript proceeds to the stages of style editing, layout, and DOI assignment.
