El artilugio, a proposal for analyzing the humanpuppeteer bond

Abstract

The following paper has as its main objective to deepen in animated theater, specifically in the collaborative relationship that occurs between the human body of the performer, animator or puppeteer and the puppet. For this purpose, we resorted to a theoretical-practical methodology, whose foundations are different studies on animation, which allowed us to make a conceptual tour on the puppet, the puppeteer and the animation techniques they use. Subsequently, in a practical way and based on a personal experience of construction and puppetry interpretation, an animated proposal on collecting will be analyzed: El artilugio, which works with the marote technique, where the human body and puppetry are articulated and confused. This study aims to be a contribution to the reflection on the links between different materialities, allowing to confirm the potential of animated theater to generate multiple interactions.
